Cacciucco Day
A story of the sea, tradition, and conviviality
Il Cacciucco Day was created as a tribute to one of the most representative dishes of Italian seaside cuisine: cacciucco. A dish that comes from Livorno and that, for over a century, has also lived on in Poggibonsi in Alcide’s kitchen, becoming part of its identity and history.
Since 2005, Cacciucco Day has been a special occasion, designed to celebrate this tradition through an experience that goes beyond simple tasting. It is a meeting of gastronomic cultures, a dialogue between recipes and territories, where Alcide’s cacciucco is compared with other great Italian fish stews, interpreted by selected restaurants.
The evening unfolds as a true tasting dinner, enriched by collaborations with local partners who share the same attention to quality and the value of raw ingredients. Every detail is designed to guide guests through an authentic journey of flavors, where tradition and care come together in a complete experience.
Above all, Cacciucco Day is about sharing: the pleasure of sitting at the table together, the story of the sea, respect for time-honored recipes, and the emotion of rediscovering them each time. An event that, over the years, has become part of Poggibonsi’s gastronomic life, leaving the memory of an intense, genuine evening deeply rooted in the culture of good food.
